CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Director, Home Health Administrator

Leading Faith-Based Nonprofit Health System  |  Home Health & Hospice Division

Greenwood Village, CO  |  Full-Time, Exempt  |  Day Shift  |  On-Site

Compensation Range: $109,174 – $203,054 annually + executive benefits

If you're a home health leader, you already know the script: industry-wide turnover near 80%, ever-shifting CMS rules and PDGM recalibrations, LUPA-threshold landmines, surveyor scrutiny, referral pressure, and a team that needs you to be steady when the regulatory ground keeps moving. You took this work because you believe people heal best at home — but somewhere between the audits, the unfilled visits, and the 11 p.m. compliance emails, the mission can start to feel like a memory.

This role is built for the leader who is ready to stop firefighting and start building — backed by a Fortune-recognized health system that actually invests in the people who lead its agencies.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client — a faith-based, not-for-profit health system recognized by Forbes as one of America's Best Employers by State, certified by Great Place To Work® for two consecutive years, and named to Becker's 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare — is seeking a Director / Home Health Administrator to lead the day-to-day clinical, operational, and financial performance of a well-established home health and hospice agency serving the metro Denver region. You will direct the full agency footprint: intake, scheduling, clinical supervision, OASIS quality, utilization management, billing oversight, payer credentialing, regulatory compliance, and team development. You will be the senior leader on the ground — the one referring physicians and care management teams pick up the phone for.

You will function as a strategic operator with real authority, plugged into a connected continuum of care — not as an isolated administrator buried under paperwork or stranded between corporate and the field.

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

•     True Operational Autonomy — You own the agency. You will set the standard for clinical supervision, quality improvement, and financial performance — with executive support, not micromanagement. Decision authority is one of the most consistently cited drivers of retention for home health leaders, and this role is designed around it.

•     Meaningful Mission, Not Just a Workload — Lead an agency anchored in nearly three decades of compassionate Coloradan home health and hospice care — not a private-equity roll-up. Your KPIs are tied to patient outcomes and team wholeness, not just episode volume.

•     A Connected Multidisciplinary Team — You will partner directly with hospital leaders, care management, intake, clinical supervisors, and a 24/7 RN on-call structure — and be supported by one of the largest integrated faith-based systems in the country. No more solo lift.

•     Schedule Sanity — Full-time, day-shift, on-site role with predictable Monday–Friday rhythm and structured on-call coverage. Home health leadership burnout is driven by always-on cognitive load — this role is structured to protect recovery time.

•     Investment in You, From Day One — Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage starting Day One. Paid Time Off accruing Day One. 4 weeks 100% paid parental leave. 403(b) retirement. Tuition assistance and a defined leadership development pipeline within a 95,000+ team-member system.

•     A Culture That Walks the Talk — Glassdoor Best Place to Work 2025. Newsweek America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity. Forbes Best Employers for Veterans. Whole-person care for patients — and team members — is the operating philosophy, not a tagline.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

•     Direct all day-to-day clinical, operational, and financial functions of the agency, ensuring a clinical supervisor is on-call during operating hours and an RN is available 24/7 to address patient needs.

•     Drive financial performance — monitor variances, optimize reimbursement under PDGM, manage payer credentialing and contract services, and implement measures to keep the agency fiscally strong without sacrificing care.

•     Hit and exceed national benchmarks on the KPIs that matter: hospitalization rates, OASIS quality, HHCAHPS patient experience, LUPA management, and HHVBP outcomes.

•     Own regulatory readiness — partner with state agencies, CMS, CLIA, and accrediting bodies to maintain survey-ready operations every day, not just every three years.

•     Build the bench — collaborate with talent acquisition and HR to recruit, credential, and retain qualified clinical and support personnel in a market where home health turnover sits near 80%.

•     Lead the QI committee, infection control, risk management, and patient experience initiatives; review trends quarterly and translate data into action.

•     Serve as the relationship lead with hospital leaders, care management teams, and referral partners — building the trust that drives sustainable census.

WHO YOU ARE

Required

•     Bachelor's degree in Nursing or another healthcare-related field (or 4+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree).

•     5+ years of progressive leadership experience in home-based care operations or other related healthcare operations.

•     Active Registered Nurse (RN) OR Physical Therapist (PT) licensure.

•     Demonstrated clinical expertise, leadership ability, and working knowledge of community health resources.

Preferred

•     Master's in Healthcare Administration, Business, or Nursing (MHA, MBA, or MSN).

•     Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

•     Direct experience with Medicare/Medicaid Conditions of Participation, OASIS, PDGM, HHVBP, and accreditation by The Joint Commission or ACHC.

•     Track record of successful state and federal survey outcomes.

•     Comfort with EHR systems (Epic preferred), real-time KPI dashboards, and HHCAHPS improvement work.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Our client is one of the largest faith-based, not-for-profit health systems in the United States, with more than 95,000 team members serving 4.7 million+ patients annually across nearly 60 hospital campuses and hundreds of care sites in nine states. The organization operates an integrated continuum that includes acute hospitals, physician practices, urgent care centers, outpatient facilities, skilled nursing, and home health and hospice agencies — all unified by a single mission to provide whole-person care for body, mind, and spirit.

The home health and hospice division you would lead has nearly three decades of roots in metro Denver, supporting thousands of Coloradans through skilled nursing, therapy, hospice, and end-of-life care. The system has invested heavily in Epic EHR deployment, AI-enabled care infrastructure (it is a founding member of the Coalition for Health AI and the Trustworthy and Responsible AI Network), and a centralized command-center model — meaning the agency leader inherits modern tools, not duct-taped systems.

Culturally, this is an organization that genuinely tries to live what it says. Recent recognitions include Great Place To Work® Certification two years running, Becker's 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare for three consecutive years, Glassdoor Best Place to Work 2025, and #1 on Gartner's Healthcare Supply Chain Top 25. Whole-person care is extended to team members through Day One benefits, mental-health support, paid parental leave, and a leadership philosophy that treats wholeness as a workforce strategy.
