CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Anesthesiologist

Physician Partnership Track

Leading Physician-Owned Multispecialty Group  |  Department of Anesthesia

Wenatchee, North Central Washington   •   Full-Time, Permanent   •   Equally Shared Call   •   On-Site (Relocation Required & Supported)

BASE COMPENSATION  $509,000 – $700,000

Plus signing bonus  •  partnership earning potential  •  up to $20,000 relocation  •  employer-paid family health premiums

If you became an anesthesiologist to be at the head of the bed — caring for your own patients, your own cases — the last few years may have felt like a slow erosion of why you chose this specialty. Nationally, more than two-thirds of attending anesthesiologists now screen at high risk for burnout, and the strongest driver isn’t the medicine. It’s the feeling of being unsupported, understaffed, and stretched across rooms you can’t fully see into. This is a partnership-track role built on the opposite premise: you perform your own cases, you never supervise CRNAs, your voice shapes the practice, and you are treated as an owner — not a line on someone else’s staffing grid.

Our client — a physician-owned, multispecialty medical group affiliated with the only integrated health system serving a 12,000-square-mile region of North Central Washington, and a Silver-level honoree of the American Medical Association’s Joy in Medicine™ program for measurable work to reduce physician burnout — is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist to join an established, collegial anesthesia practice. You will deliver anesthesia across a genuinely diverse case mix — general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, vascular, interventional, OB/GYN, neurosurgery and trauma — with the opportunity, not the obligation, to take on cardiac cases alongside a dedicated subgroup of partners. Physicians here do their own cases and do not supervise CRNAs, so your day is spent practicing medicine at the head of the bed, not managing a coverage matrix. You will function as a valued, decision-making member of a physician-led team — not as an isolated provider buried under paperwork or another organization’s productivity targets.

Why This Role Is Different

•    True Clinical Autonomy  —  You perform your own cases and never supervise CRNAs. Research on attending anesthesiologists found that feeling unsupported at work was the single strongest predictor of burnout — by a wide margin. Here, the practice model is designed around your clinical hands, not a supervision ratio.

•    A Caseload That Keeps You Sharp  —  A broad subspecialty mix from trauma and neuro to OB and vascular keeps the work varied and engaging — with an optional path into cardiac alongside experienced partners. No fellowship is required to join.

•    A Real Seat at the Table  —  This is a physician-owned group with physician leaders and decision-makers at every level and a one-year partnership track. Nationally, barely half of physicians say they feel valued by their organization; here your influence over the practice is structural, not symbolic.

•    Equitably Shared Call  —  Call is divided equally among the physicians in the department — no lopsided burden quietly handed to the newest hire, and no surprise coverage built on chronic short-staffing.

•    Protected Time to Actually Live  —  Up to 11 weeks of time off and a do-your-own-cases model with real boundaries — so recovery, family, and the outdoors aren’t theoretical perks but part of the job’s design.

•    An Employer That Invests in Keeping You  —  Joy in Medicine recognition, fully employer-paid medical, dental and vision premiums for your whole family, and student-loan counseling for the life of your loans signal an organization that measures retention by wellbeing, not just RVUs.

What You’ll Do

•    Deliver safe, personalized perioperative anesthesia care across a broad surgical spectrum — managing your own cases from preoperative evaluation through PACU.

•    Optionally expand your scope into cardiac anesthesia alongside an established subgroup of partners as your interests and skills grow.

•    Partner with surgeons, perioperative nursing, and OR leadership to keep cases moving safely and on time.

•    Share department call equitably with your physician colleagues, contributing to dependable, well-distributed coverage.

•    Communicate with clarity and compassion, educating patients and families and easing them through the perioperative experience.

•    Optionally teach and mentor the next generation through an academic affiliation with a major university medical school.

•    Bring your judgment to the table as a future partner — shaping quality, workflow, and the direction of the group.

Who You Are

Required

•    MD or DO with a completed anesthesiology residency.

•    Board-certified or board-eligible in anesthesiology.

•    Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Washington State medical license.

•    Willing and able to relocate to the Wenatchee, Washington area (relocation is required and generously supported).

•    A genuine commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and to your own work-life balance.

Preferred

•    Interest or experience in cardiac anesthesia — training is welcomed, but fellowship is not required.

•    Experience managing your own cases in a non-supervisory practice model.

•    Comfort and confidence across a broad subspecialty case mix.

•    A track record of collegial, team-based collaboration with surgeons and perioperative staff.

•    Familiarity with a modern electronic health record (Epic).

Your Total Rewards

Compensation

•    Base salary range of $500,000 – $700,000, with a salary guarantee for your first three months before you join the group’s pooled anesthesia compensation plan.

•    Signing bonus.

•    Genuine ownership: partnership earning potential through a one-year partnership track for U.S. candidates.

Health & Wellness

•    The employer pays the annual medical, dental, and vision premiums for you and your entire family — among the most valuable benefits on this list.

•    Confidential Employee Assistance Program through a national physician-wellbeing partner (Vital WorkLife).

Financial Security

•    401(k) with employer match from your start date.

•    Employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability coverage.

•    Personalized student-loan counseling for the full life of your repayment.

Growth & Development

•    $10,000 continuing medical education allowance every two years.

•    Physician leadership pathways and optional academic teaching with a major university.

Work-Life Balance

•    Up to 11 weeks of time off.

•    Up to $20,000 in relocation support, including professional packing.

•    Equitably shared call and a practice culture that protects your time away.

About the Organization

Our client is a physician-owned, multispecialty medical group working in close partnership with the leading integrated health system in North Central Washington. Together they care for a 12,000-square-mile service area, with clinics in twelve rural communities, two hospitals anchored in Wenatchee, and more than thirty medical specialties under one connected system. The combined organization is home to over 300 physicians and 170 advanced practice clinicians.

Culture here starts from a simple, physician-led premise: taking care of the people who deliver the care is as important as taking care of patients. That commitment isn’t a tagline — it earned the organization Silver-level recognition in the American Medical Association’s Joy in Medicine™ program for concrete, sustained efforts to improve physician satisfaction and reduce burnout. Physicians lead at every level, and partners have a real say in how the practice runs.

The group is also academically engaged, offering teaching opportunities with medical students and residents from a major university medical school for those who want them — a chance to stay intellectually sharp and give back, without the relentless pace of a large academic center.

The Life That Comes With It

Wenatchee — the “Apple Capital of the World” — sits where the Columbia River meets the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, and it enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year while the west side of the state battles gray skies. The 10-mile Apple Capital Loop Trail runs right along the river; world-class skiing and snowboarding at Mission Ridge are a short drive away, along with hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, and the alpine lakes and Bavarian-style village of nearby Leavenworth and Lake Chelan. Washington has no state income tax, local power rates are among the lowest in the country, and the cost of living — housing especially — is meaningfully more attainable than Seattle, which is about two and a half hours west. It is a safe, friendly, family-centered community where your commute is measured in minutes and your weekends are measured in trailheads.
